You just never know what you’ll find when you log into Facebook. You know what I’m talking about.
Chances are that your news feed is a mixed bag of memes, life updates, and an avalanche of depressing news.
There’s the sharing of uber depressing national headlines (“Child is Tortured in Basement for 4 years” type stuff). Then there’s your animal activist friend who likes to post images of slaughterhouses.
And let’s not forgot the political junkies who post skewed political stories 24/7.
With all of these unpleasant and negative stories being plastered on our news feeds, it’s no wonder that Facebook isn’t as enjoyable as it once was.
Facebook is our distraction, and who wants to be distracted with stories that make you feel like utter crap?
Not me, so I started unfollowing, unliking, and unfriending any person or page who contributed to filling up my news feed with unpleasant stories.
After I snipped out the negativity curators, I started following pages that posted videos and articles that either made me laugh or inspired me. Guess what? I’ve been enjoying FB so much more because of it.
And like any good friend, I don’t want to keep all that information to myself.
Follow these Facebook pages and your news feed will soon be full of content that inspires you, educates you, and makes you laugh so hard you cry.

“Humans of New York began as a photography project in 2010. The initial goal was to photograph 10,000 New Yorkers on the street, and create an exhaustive catalogue of the city’s inhabitants. Somewhere along the way, I began to interview my subjects in addition to photographing them. And alongside their portraits, I’d include quotes and short stories from their lives.
Taken together, these portraits and captions became the subject of a vibrant blog. HONY now has over twenty million followers on social media, and provides a worldwide audience with daily glimpses into the lives of strangers on the streets of New York City.”
